How to run a company alone, not go crazy & stay motivated!

As someone who is starting out in a new venture and trying to take a new approach in life. I decided that it would be a good idea to take my audience and maybe potential customers on the real journey with me. I would love to share my day to day experience with creating this brand and also my practices. Sharing our experiences is the most important part of being a human and I am really trying to enjoy this journey and not only create a company for the sake of creating a company or making business.

Hera are some of the things that I changed and have started doing so I can take on this path and give you the perspective what it is like to start from ground zero.

Quitting Personal Social Media

As silly as it might seem, one of the things that I decided to do so I can clear my mind is to get off of social media. I am allowing myself to be on any social media app just for the sake of engaging with potential customers and posting my daily content. I have completely disconnected from looking at posts, brands, influencers, etc. I had two main reasons to make that change — first I felt overwhelmed with the amount of content that I was “consuming” on daily basis, you are constantly bombarded with news, products to buy, butt pictures, travel, puppies and all the great and unattainable things that will make you feel like you are not worth anything.

Second reason for me quitting social media was that I didn’t wanted to sabotage my success. Often people start a venture and they come across other brands and look at themselves and think — why would someone buy from me? it already exists and this company is way ahead and they have 1 million followers, who would buy from my 1000 followers account. I think it is a very bad mindset and it will only trip me overtime. I want to have a fresh clean start.

Going deeper with my meditation practices

I have been experiencing with meditation for 2 years now but I never got deeper than a 30 minute session with my Headspace app. I have been trying to really understand what meditation really is and how it can help me build my health and strong mindset. I do believe that the brand that I am starting is related to the mindful practices. I think herbs have healing powers if we know how to use them and invite them into our lives. I could drink a cup of tea on the go and not feel the effects of this tea. But if I really sit and engage my mind in the action and thought of why I am drinking this tea or consuming a food, it can really help enhance the powers of this herb or food.
I would love to educate myself and my audience and bring that to the products that I will be offering.

Educating myself on the products that I am creating and selling & enjoying it

This is another thing that I strongly believe in. I came to the realization that you really need to enjoy the ride and not focus on the outcome. I do not want to sell something for the sake of selling something, I don’t think it works, I don’t think you can scale much at a certain point you will get stuck. I would love to be creative and enjoy my time “working”. After some really catastrophic events last year in my personal life I did realize that not enjoying life is the worst thing you can do, and at the same time I am not naïve and I know that working is part of life and problems are there but I want to create a good that environment for myself, a place of enjoyment. So selling products for the sake of selling them doesn’t feel like the right fit for me. I have taken the time and space in my life to get myself educated. I have bought books and I have subscriptions and audio books, articles, spreadsheets and all of the above on the subject of herbs. I found out that the more I read and implement, the more ideas and excitement come out of it.

I am not rushing but also I am not procrastinating

When I first started this, I decided that I will take my time and really work with my ideas slowly. I also had and still have other things going on in my life and I found out that just pushing through life and ventures in excessive speed will lead you nowhere. I leave that for the “innovators’ and ones that wanna die young and famous. This can be tricky, it can lead to procrastination, but as soon as I have something ready I put it out there for the world. I am not afraid of making a mistake or failing in something, with time and tweaking things align in my experience.

I will be posting series of these articles, sharing stories from my daily experiences from developing a product to working with customers. What my experience is running a company alone. How far I would come with my meditation and of course some good recipes and advise on herbs and herbal products.
